The present invention relates to an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is suitably used for a color electrophotographic image forming apparatus such as a copying machine and a printer.
b) Description of the Related Art
An electrophotographic image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer and a facsimile is known which includes an electrophotographic photoreceptor as a photosensitive body, and forms a color image with the electrophotographic photoreceptor by repeating a process of forming an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an image to be formed on the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor by means of a laser beam, a charging device, a light irradiating device, a developing device and a transferring device.
In an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, a process cartridge is used which includes an electrophotographic photoreceptor as a component and further includes charging means, developing means, cleaning means, etc. as auxiliary components for the electrophotographic photoreceptor, and is detachably mountable to a main body of the electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The process cartridge may be detachably mounted to the main body of the image forming apparatus, so that the maintenance of the apparatus can be done in an easy manner. Therefore, the process cartridge system has widely been employed for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus in recent years.
As an electrophotographic photoreceptor included in a process cartridge, for example, an electrophotographic photoreceptor described in U.S. Pat. No. 5,928,750 is known. In this electrophotographic photoreceptor, the surface of a photosensitive layer is mainly composed of a charge-generating substance, and further, a single-layer-type charge transport layer containing a charge transport material is provided on the surface of the photosensitive layer.
